Make America Great Again, or MAGA for short, is a slogan that has been used time and again in the presidential election campaigns in the United States. It was used prominently by Ronald Reagan in his 1980 campaign and was made the central slogan by Donald Trump in his 2015/2016 campaign.
Donald Trump himself has associated the slogan with jobs, entrepreneurship, and military strength.
„To me, it meant jobs. It meant industry, and it meant military strength. It meant taking care of our veterans. It meant so much“.
Asked what era Donald Trump would like to take America back to, he cited the turn of the century, when American entrepreneurship ensured economic prosperity, and the late 1940s and 1950s, when America „wasn’t pushed around“ and „everybody respected us.“
